French Louis XVI neoclassical desk mahogany colored marquetry 1970s

This beautiful and unique bureau plat French writing desk was made in solid mahogany wood covered with pastel colored marquetry in the early 1970s.  With its sleek rectangular shape and fluted feet, rich gilt bronze decorations, this desk is typical of the French neoclassical work of the period, Louis XVI inspired, such as Maison Jansen or Maurice Hirsch work, and is reminiscent of Mathieu Guillaume CRAMER’s work too. This desk features three drawers on the front, with its original leather top and two tablets. A unique piece, found in a great vintage condition.
