Large french ceramic vase sang de boeuf 1960s
Large french ceramic vase sang de boeuf 1960s
2.000 €
At 67 cms (over 2 ft) tall, this curved vase would be imposing in any space. It was created in the 1960’s by a French ceramicist, with an ample body and energetic trumpet neck. The rich colors err on the side of dark. Sang de boeuf, or flambé glaze, is the chief design choice and certainly packs a lot of impact. Much of the vase is opaque and a deep blood red or dark, mossy absinthe green. As the vase narrows into the neck, the colors begin to separate—red and green take on the brushed quality typical of sang de boeuf, with the very top of the piece stark white ceramic. The result is a timeless, bold look.
