Rare large ceramic Art deco square box by Faïenceries et Emaux de Longwy made around 1925. The bright and bold turquoise enamelled cloisonné Chinoiserie design features a beautiful parrot surrounded by foliage. The blue ground features Longwy's signature craquelure glaze. The Longwy manufacture has hundreds of years of tradition, their golden age is clearly the 1920s to 1940s when the cloisonné technique reached a creative Art deco peak. A collectible piece, with a wonderful decorative presence, found in a very good vintage condition. Perfect as a gift, it can be used as a ring or jewellery box.
