Rare golden lacquer and brass Maison Jansen end tables 1970’s

This pair of end tables are exciting examples of French design firm Maison Jansen’s commissioned pieces. They’re made from solid mahogany, lacquered in a rich dark brown and bronze–golden finish; the resulting effect is a beautiful mottling of color around the entirety of the piece. They stand atop solid brass blocks, which highlight the warmer, lighter colors of the wood. With perfect proportions and incredibly high-quality material, it’s clear how much care went into their construction and design.
Since they were made only to order, the set is quite rare, as the design was never mass-produced. Clients who ordered these pieces would have been affluent, as the pieces were quite expensive even in the 1970’s, true Maison Jansen masterpieces. If desired, the matching chest of drawers is also available for purchase.
