Set of ten french Maison Jansen Queen Anne style chairs 1940s
Sold out
Unique set of ten green lacquered dining chairs made by Maison Jansen in the 1940s from the chinoiserie revival period of the early 20th century. The English Queen Anne style chairs were crafted with hardwood frames with Japanned finish. Decorated with parcel gilt hand-painted Asian scenes with mountain backs on each backplate, each being different. The arms, legs, and back are embellished with floral and foliate patterns. Adding to their Maison Jansen “French chic” appeal, the set of ten has developed a lovely patina. The seats have been fully restored and reupholstered with a wool bouclé fabric from Lelievre Paris - Reference Lama.
